The weather over our country today is mostly cloudy. New rains are expected for hours, as well as intense snowfall in places, according to the data of the meteorologists.
The maximum temperatures in the country will decrease and will be within wide limits – it will be colder over the Danube plain – up to 9-10°C, and slightly warmer in southern Bulgaria – up to 12-14°C.
The satellite image shows the more significant cloudiness, which also represents the expected new precipitation. Already this afternoon from the south, they will become more active and by the end of the day, rain will fall over the entire country. Rainfall will be more significant in the Rilo-Rhodope region and the Upper Thracian lowland.
The expected quantities by the end of the day will in some places exceed 15-20 l/sq.m. Thunderstorms are also possible in the extreme southeast and the Sandanski region.
Above 1400-1500 meters the precipitation will be from snow. We expect a snow cover to form as well.
Code Yellow applies to short-term, but intense rainfall, as the expected total amount of rain will be between 15-20 l/sq.m.
Warning for heavy snowfall. This code is issued because in a short time the snow cover will exceed 10 cm.
