Snow Chains Required to Visit the San Diego Mountains | News from Mexico

San Diego, Calif. – Following snow from the winter storm that hit the region this weekend in the mountains of San Diego County, Caltrans authorities reminded commuters that they must have chains for their tires in order to access certain spots.

California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) authorities said Monday that the requirement for tire chains was for State Route 78 from the intersection with state road 79 near Santa Ysabel on the east side of Banner Grade.

Another item that required tire chains was State Route 79 from Camp Cuyamaca at State Route 78 in Julian, Caltrans officials said.
