The last days of the month will be rainy
The last week of February begins with fog along some reservoirs, in valleys and lowlands. On Monday, however, the day will be sunny in the hours until noon almost all over the country. Only in the evening in the areas of the northwest will the clouds become more with a tendency to rain lightly until midnight. Daily temperatures will be higher than on Sunday and will fluctuate between 15 and 20 degrees.
It will be windy in the mountains with stronger gusts in the massifs to the west. Rainfall is possible in the evening, but will be relatively light from rain, and temperatures will range from 3 to 10 degrees.
Colder air will invade the country during the night and in the early hours of Tuesday, and a zone of low atmospheric pressure will be positioned in the Adriatic Sea. Rain showers will begin, which in the afternoon and evening will cover almost all of Bulgaria. As temperatures drop in the mountains and around the massifs of Western Bulgaria, the rain will turn to snow.
On Wednesday there will be precipitation again – in the western regions mostly snow, in the east – rain. Initial forecasts are for snow cover of up to 10 centimeters on Thursday morning in some plains and over 20 in the mountains of the Southwest.
Around the middle of the week the daily temperatures will be noticeably lower – in the range of 5-10 degrees, and the wind will create a feeling of cold weather. The sun will show more permanently on Friday, when temperatures will rise slightly.
Preliminary forecasts point to the possible formation of another Mediterranean cyclone at the very end of February, again with rain and snow.
