Heavy snowfall was reported on the mountains in southern Norway from Thursday afternoon until night until Saturday, as a result of precipitation and westerly stiff winds in exposed places.

Trouble over the mountain
Fylkesvei 55 over Sognefjellet was closed on Thursday night.
On Thursday afternoon, there was up to one hour of waiting time in both directions on the E134 over Haukelifjell, according to Vegtrafikksentralen sør. The bad weather led to the temporary detour being temporarily closed.
At 18.40, the police in Møre og Romsdal also reported major traffic challenges on the E136 at Rauma.
– Several trailers are crashed along the road and prevent plowing, they wrote, and encouraged people to use detour options.
Lots of snow forecast
At Verma, traffic is heading west as normal, but it is snowing heavily, and the police are asking motorists to be properly shuttled.
Until Friday afternoon, snow showers are expected over 400 to 700 meters in Møre og Romsdal and Nordfjord in Western Norway, meteorologists write on Twitter.
Locally, there can be 25 to 60 cm of snow in 24 hours.
South of Nordfjord, snow showers over 300 to 600 meters are expected. The snow line is expected to rise gradually over Friday.
