Two weeks ago, Snoop Dogg opened his first own dispensary called SWED in Los Angeles. In the meantime, there is a second SWED of the rapper, namely in Amsterdam. A real Snoop Dogg coffeeshop in our capital, following the example of Mike Tyson and with all the personal favorite weed strains of the dee oh double gee!

Yes, after coffeeshop Tyson 2.0 of former boxing champion Mike Tyson, rapper Snoop Dogg also opened his own coffee shop in Amsterdam today. He has become co-owner of coffee shop Funky Munkey in the Marnixstraat, which will now be called SWED. Just like Snoop’s first coffee shop in Los Angeles. The name is an abbreviation of the famous song Smoke Weed Every Dayand an ode to Snoop’s late cousin Nate Dogg, from whom the wise words actually came.

Rachid has coffee shops with Tyson and Snoop Dogg

It is not easy to get a coffee shop in Amsterdam, because the municipality has not issued new permits for a long time. And so Snoop Dogg became co-owner of the already existing coffee shop Funky Munkey in the Marnixstraat. According to the newspaper Het Parool, the other owner is Rachid Bahida, who also shares his other coffee shop in the Spuistraat with Mike Tyson. So Rachid has coffee shops with both Mike Tyson and Snoop Dogg.

Snoop himself is currently fairly close by, as he is reporting on the Olympic Games in Paris for an American television channel. So perhaps you will be able to find him in person one of these days at Marnixstraat 333, where the new coffee shop is located.

Many Cali varieties on the menu

If you visit the new SWED coffeeshop, you should definitely try one of the many ‘Cali’ strains. According to the press release, Snoop picked them all himself, although the weed strain ‘2Pac’ is not among them in Amsterdam. That weed strain was a tribute to the deceased Death Row rapper of the same name two weeks ago, during the opening of SWED Los Angeles.

What you will find in terms of Cali weed in SWED is a lot of weed from LA. We mention a San Fernando Valley OG, LA Pop and LA Runtz. But the shop also has classics like Gelato 41, Double Runtz and exclusive strains like Blue Basquait, Candy Warhol, Spicy Ramen and Beso. Dutch varieties are also there, no less than ten varieties and of course the Amnesia is not missing. SWED also has dry-sift and various foreign hash varieties. What does Snoop himself have to say about it, you ask?

‘Amsterdam has always embraced cannabis, and so have I. It’s only right that I bring S.W.E.D. global to this iconic city that understands the joy of great cannabis and a good time.’
