American rapper Snoop Dogg has become co-owner of a coffee shop in Amsterdam. The coffee shop in the city center opens tomorrow and is called SWED, after the rapper’s famous saying: Smoke Weed Every Day.

Until recently the coffee shop was called Funky Munkeywrites AT5In the renovated coffee shop hangs a large photo of a smoking Snoop Dogg, who was born Calvin Broadus.

According to The Parool is Rachid Bahida the other owner of the coffee shop. Last year he also sold part of another business to a famous American, namely boxing legend Mike Tyson. Just like the rapper, Tyson is a big fan of cannabis. In 2018 he started a weed farm in California.

Coffee shop in the US

Snoop Dogg opened his first coffee shop in Los Angeles two weeks ago, which will allow retail cannabis sales in the US dispensaries called – has been legal since 2018. The weed shop in Los Angeles has the same name as the one in Amsterdam.

The 52-year-old rapper has turned smoking the green plant into an art. He rapped about it many times in his long career, including in the song The Next Episode from 1999 with Dr. Dre. The expression after which the coffee shop is named comes from this song.

He also had his own cannabis brand. An assistant to the rapper, self-proclaimed professional joint roller Renegade Piranha, said in 2022 that she smokes every day 75 tot 150 joints had to turn for him.
