‘SNL’ pays tribute to writer Erin Maroney Fraser, who died at 53 – Deadline

Saturday Night Live paid tribute tonight to Erin Maroney Fraser, who made her debut as Lorne Michaels’ senior assistant. Frasier died suddenly on March 3 at the age of 53. According to a GoFundMe page created for her children, she suffered a brain hemorrhage.

Fraser held various positions at SNLincluding as a personal editor, and has also worked for Michaels in a variety of roles, including helping to develop Late Night with Conan O’Brien. She has also worked on films including Wayne’s World 2 et Tom Boy.

Fraser was most recently executive director of the Savannah Regional Film Commission, a role she had held since early January.

She is survived by her three children and her husband.

“Erin was an entertainment production industry veteran and already had such a positive impact here in Savannah. She had such a radiant, positive energy that people gravitated towards her. She was going to do great things here in Savannah and we are so lucky to have been able to spend the time we had with her,” said Trip Tollison, President and CEO of the Savannah Economic Development Authority. “We are heartbroken by this loss and extend our condolences to her husband, three children, family and friends.”
