The tragedy was really only a short distance away, the sniper was ready for action. Fortunately, he didn’t pull his trigger finger in the end. “The shooter did not intervene only thanks to the Greenpeace banner,” Herrmann revealed.

The activist descended to the lawn of the Allianz Arena on a yellow wing with a distinctive inscription Greenpeace and Kick out oil. As a result, the armed forces recognized that he was an environmental activist.

“If the police assessed it differently and came to a different conclusion, perhaps that there could be a threat of a terrorist attack, the pilot could pay for his act with his life,” the Bavarian interior minister admitted.

The men were immediately removed from the playing area by security guards. During the landing, during which he crashed into the wires for the so-called spider camera, the parachutist injured two people on the head who had to be treated in hospital. He himself was not injured.

“We have no understanding of such irresponsible behavior, which puts human lives at stake,” German police said.

UEFA also called the act ruthless and dangerous, saying local authorities would take the necessary steps.

Greenpeace apologized for the threats and injuries at the stadium. “We hope everyone is doing well,” she said on Twitter. The activist is said to have been hit by technical problems and had to make an emergency landing.
