The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m., this Thursday, November 28, 2024, on the SNCF line linking Paris to Toulouse. A train hit a person traveling on the tracks near Caussade in Tarn-et-Garonne. The pedestrian died.
Rescue teams and competent authorities went to the scene of the accident and rail traffic was interrupted in this area for many hours.
Around 300 people were on board the damaged train. And therefore had to wait before continuing their journey. “Traffic is interrupted between Montauban and Cahors following a personal accident. Traffic is expected to resume around 2:20 p.m.“, indicated the SNCF on its site Traffic and network information. SNCF teams distributed water and meal trays on board the Intercités train.
The train was able to resume its journey and rail traffic was restored in both directions at 3 p.m., according to SNCF.
