This platform allows you to download videos and songs in different resolutions and speeds, which is why it accumulates millions of downloads, but it also brings with it several irregularities that put its users at risk.
As Secure-D explained, this was carried out thanks to the inclusion of an integrated development kit in Snaptube, which was responsible for accessing a control server from which the following tasks were carried out:
- Fraudulent advertising clicks: Snaptube downloaded ads in the background and, without showing them to the user, clicked on the advertising for them.
- Subscription to payment services: The application fraudulently subscribed the user to different payment services.

But this would not be the only application that puts its users at risk. According to the Móvil Zona portal, the Downloader for videos platform has malware inside which would access the private data of the netizen, especially the data of their banking entities.
As reported by the portal, once the application is downloaded to the smartphone, the malware runs on the victim’s device and communicates remotely in the background with its command and control server.
The application at that moment waits for the response from the remote command and control to receive the order to obtain the final APK and in this way infect the device completely and endanger the private information of the unsuspecting victims who are unaware that it is being stolen from them. background.
Given this, a call has been made from different cyber security portals to pay attention when using this type of applications.
