Snapdragon 888 promises stunning photos and videos

Jakarta

Snapdragon 888 not just speeding because it was built with 5 nm fabrication. This chipset promises stunning photo shots and video recording.

Qualcomm Technologies VP Product Management Judd Heape reveals the Snapdragon 888 brings Qualcomm Spectra 580. Inside there are three image signal processor (ISP).

Since Spectra was first introduced, Snapdragon has been equipped with two ISPs. This means that smartphones using this chipset can record with two cameras at the same time.

Currently, most cellphones on the market are now equipped with three rear cameras, each of which carries a different lens, namely ultrawide, wide and telephoto. Equipped with three ISPs, the phone can record video from three different cameras at the same time in quality 4K HDR.

“The same goes for photos, the three Qualcomm Spectra 580 ISPs can take three photos at the same time at 28 megapixels each without lag,” said Judd Heape.

Three concurrencies will also provide smoother transitions when zooming between cameras. For example, when you start shooting with a wide-angle camera at two ISPs, we have to consider whether to zoom in telephoto or zoom out using ultrawide.

“Now with three concurrencies, we don’t have to guess anymore. We can run all three cameras in the background and immediately switch to the camera you choose,” said Judd Heape.

Interestingly, the three ISPs are promised to handle transitions between cameras facing the same or the reverse side.

“Three ISPs are very good at handling the transitions between cameras facing the same direction. But nothing prevents you from using the rear camera and front camera simultaneously. You can switch between rear and front camera frames without any delay,” explained Judd Heape during the session. question and answer Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020 which was held online, Thursday (3/12/2020).
