Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ predicted to be delayed

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chip is expected to be delayed until the end of this year.

The Phone Arena page quoted a tipster called Digital Chat Station, reporting that this delay was due to the recent COVID-19 lockdown in China.

Zhengzhou City, nicknamed iPhone City, was temporarily closed due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. Zhengzou is home to the Foxconn factory, Apple’s largest manufacturer.

Qualcomm originally planned to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chip this month. The phone, which is powered by a chip with 4 nanometer processing technology, is expected to launch in June.

The name Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is a guess for the chip that will be released by Qualcomm, they haven’t announced the chip that will be launched later.

The additional name “plus” is expected to be pinned on the chip because it has a faster GPU performance, while the CPU is expected to be the same.

The news circulating, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra phone will be the first to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+, considering Qualcomm and Lenovo have a close relationship.
