In April 2024, COMPUTER BILD reported that Apple’s in-house calculator with iPadOS 18 was finding its way onto the iPad after a long wait. Now there is more good news for users of Apple’s tablets. As a report from the online portal Phone Arena As can be seen, the latest update to the Snapchat app brings native support for the iPad. If an application is native, it was developed explicitly for use on a specific hardware or platform. Up until now, there was a Snapchat version that was only designed for smartphones and obviously not for larger devices such as tablets. Snapchat is now supposed to fill the entire display on the iPad and give users a larger user interface when taking snaps. In addition, the second and fourth tabs now show more friends. However, there are no other changes. The US company writes in the update notes: “It’s still the same Snapchat that you know and love, but this time on the big screen.” For social media fans, the iPad has not yet been an attractive place to go when it comes to using the apps. Some popular platforms still lack native support there – including Instagram. Even after the Snapchat update, there is still room for improvement in the social network’s iPad application. For example, the app on Apple’s tablets still only supports use in portrait format. It is not known if and when the landscape format, which would be ideal for the devices, will find its way into the app. However, according to Phone Arena, it can be assumed that Snapchat will continue to provide its application with helpful innovations and fresh updates.
