Snapchat has received an unexpected new feature at this stage with its latest update: an app for the iPad! After 13 years of existence, the social network is finally interested in the tablet with an “optimized” interface, or rather, one that occupies the entire iPadOS screen. We quickly understand the problem when opening the app: it is the iPhone interface, exclusively vertical, which is displayed larger. The screenshots on the store clearly show that we should not expect anything better than the iPhone presentation vaguely enlarged to fill the iPad screen.

It’s quite fascinating to think that Snapchat waited until 2024 to offer so little to its users who have an iPad. Was it really necessary to create an iPadOS version under these conditions? The developer still has some solid arguments to offer in the release notes:
Snapchat is now available natively for iPad! This means that the Snapchat app will fill the entire screen of your iPad, allowing you to capture Snaps in a larger window and see more friends on the 2nd and 4th tabs.
The same full-screen app that lets you see more contacts: what more could you ask for? Snapchat requires iPadOS 13 or later and its interface is, as always, entirely translated into French.
