Snapchat Celebrity Referred to Public Prosecution for Publishing False Information about Forced Marriage in Saudi Arabia

Al-Marsad Newspaper: Al-Marsad newspaper learned that a Snapchat celebrity was referred to the Public Prosecution for publishing incorrect information about the commission regarding forcing those caught in illegal seclusion to marry for two years or pay a dowry of 1,000 riyals.

And the well-known Snape claimed that whoever does not abide by that period shall be punished with ten years imprisonment, with the imposition of a flogging penalty, which led to her being summoned and referred to the Public Prosecution to take the regular action in her regard.

For his part, lawyer Marwan Al-Jabri revealed that the expected punishment for those who publish false information will be imprisonment for a period of 5 years and a fine of up to 3 million riyals, or one or both of them.
