Snapchat Android users are more dominant than iOS

The reason is, Snapchat was only launched on iOS and only released its first Android application in 2012. And the Snapchat team spent more than a year rebuilding the app on Android to match its iOS version.

Various attempts have been made so that this application can be used equally by Android users, for example through the latest features that are presented by Snapchat, such as Voice Scan, Cameos Stickers. It was quite fruitful. Snapchat is finally getting more and more accepted by Android users.

Snapchat recently announced in its revenue report that their Android users are now bigger than iOS. And Android users also continue to grow.

During the first quarter of 2021, Snapchat reached 280 million daily active users, an increase of 22 percent year over year. Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snapchat, said that this moment was a milestone, when Andorid users caught up with iOS users.

This proves their long-term strategy and investment to rebuild apps on Android works.

Previously, Snapchat was rumored to be going to major overhaul of its dating platform. One of them, by presenting a new look for the Snap Map. This redesign divides the dating platform into 5 screens, previously only 3.

Now the Snap Map is on the left of the chat. Meanwhile, Discover has now changed its name to ‘Community’. Meanwhile, the Snap series, which includes drama series and real style programs, can be found to the right of ‘Community’ in the new tab as ‘Discover’.

The jump is far enough, seen on the navigation bar belonging to Snapchat. Users can see where other Snapchat users are just by looking at the Snap Map, no need to scroll the screen. Reportedly, the display, which is still in the beta trial phase, will be available to all users, both Android and iOS.
