From Wednesday, November 1, the culinary battle between the famous chefs will start again on VTM in a new season of ‘Snackmasters’. This time the duels between the top chefs are led by a striking new presentation duo: Mathieu Terryn and Bockie De Repper.
The two buddies cross the country with their snack mobile to uncover all the secrets behind the most iconic snacks in the factories. Bockie de Repper is a rapper, YouTuber, presenter, Aalst resident, but above all omnivorous. Name a snack and Bockie has already eaten it. ‘Snackmasters’ feels like coming home to him: “I have doubts about everything, but I immediately said yes to this. I didn’t even know presenting ‘Snackmasters’ could ever be on my bucket list. Being able to do this together with Mathieu was an even bigger reason, because we were able to hold each other’s slippery snack hands during this new adventure. I like to make TV with something to eat and this is the highlight in that regard. Just prepare all the snacks every week and we will provide a reason for ‘evening snacks’.”
When Mathieu Terryn is not singing at Bazart or turning chairs in ‘The Voice of Flanders’, his life is completely dedicated to things that really matter in life. In ‘Snackmasters’ some of Flanders’ most talented chefs try to make a perfect copy of a popular snack. This season they are Loïc Van Impe (TV and YouTube), Roger Van Damme (Het Gebaar), Jelle Beeckman (The Messy Chef), Stijn Rotthier (Fortuin), Wout Bru (Sanglier Des Ardennes), Julius Persoone (The Chocolate Line). , Timothy Tynes (Atelier Maple) and Hendrik Buysse (Blend Brothers). Every week they compete in a duel with each other in which they have 48 hours to find out how they think the delicacy works. Afterwards, the chefs stand nose to nose in front of a jury of the three greatest experts, hopefully with a perfect imitation snack. Whoever wins the exciting cook-off will advance.
