Two men from Etten-Leur (44) and Oudenbosch (40) and a Belgian (64) were arrested on Tuesday for smuggling 2,500 kilos of cocaine. The trio would be involved in three coke transports that were intercepted in 2020. The police reported this on Friday.
After the arrests, detectives searched four houses, two garages and a business premises in Etten-Leur. Here they found three firearms, ammunition, a kilo of synthetic drugs and drug raw materials. Agents also seized thousands of euros in cash, expensive watches and clothing.
Phone messages cracked
The Public Prosecution Service links the three men to three cocaine finds in containers. The police already made these discoveries in the first half of 2020. The police traced the suspects by cracking encrypted telephone messages. One of the men is a transport operator.
The suspects will be arraigned this Friday before the examining magistrate of the court in Zwolle. At least two of them stay stuck longer.
