SMS, the new weapon of hackers

A fraudulent SMS campaign using Bpost’s name and logo has been successful for hackers.

Figures, provided by our Cybersecurity Center, show that more than 9,000 smartphones have been infected with a virus. The latter made it possible to recover the data present on the phone but also to make it a tool allowing to send thousands of SMS per day. The virus concerned is Flubot. “Flu”, an English word which means “flu” in French, and “bot” which can be associated with the word “robot”.
