Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting’s latest survey results (SMRC) states the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar has the lowest electability as a presidential and vice presidential candidate even though it has been officially declared.
SMRC simulated three presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, Prabowo Subianto-Erick Thohir and Ganjar Pranowo-Ridwan Kamil.
As a result, Ganjar-Ridwan Kamil’s electability was the highest with 35.4 percent. Followed by Prabowo-Erick 31.7 percent. Anies-Cak Imin only 16.5 percent. There were 16.4 percent who had not answered.
“This is the public reaction a few days after the Anies-Muhaimin declaration. The hope that this pair’s votes would increase after the declaration has not happened. If we think positively, maybe because the political machine is not yet hot and voters need time to queue to get into the Anies-Muhaimin box,” said Saiful Mujani quoted Antara.
Saiful said Anies-Imin’s vote tally reflected the strength of the two parties. including, PKB with NasDem or NasDem with PKS.
Therefore, a support figure of around 16 percent tends to be logical because it reflects two political forces.
He emphasized that this survey was a simulation to see how the public would react to the Anies-Muhaimin couple after being declared.
SMRC created the Ganjar-Ridwan Kamil scheme because there was news that they would be a duet. Likewise Prabowo-Erick Thohir. However, the two pairs have not been officially declared.
“Of course the Ganjar and Prabowo pairs can change, but at least the Anies-Muhaimin pair is likely to be relatively stable,” said Saiful.
Saiful Mujani said this survey was carried out on September 5 2023 after the Anies-Muhaimin declaration on September 2 2023 involving 1,212 respondents.
Previously, the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) also stated that Anies Baswedan’s electability was the lowest compared to Ganjar and Prabowo.
The survey was conducted last August or before the joint declaration with Muhaimin Iskandar.
Ganjar sits in first place in the simulation of three presidential candidates. Ganjar’s electability will reach 37 percent in August 2023. His electability has increased by six percent since August last year.
Prabowo is in second place with 35.3 percent. In August 2022, Prabowo’s electability will be 30.1 percent.
Meanwhile, Anies is the only candidate whose electability has decreased. Anies’ electability fell from 28.2 percent to 22.2 percent.
