Smoking Reduces Average Life Expectancy of Saudis by 1.6 Years: Minister of Health

The Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jalajel, confirmed that smoking reduces the average life expectancy of Saudis by an average of 1.6 years. This contradicts the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to raise the average life expectancy of citizens.

Al-Jalajel explained that there are a number of steps that help to quit smoking, most notably avoiding places that stimulate smoking and reviewing the diet, in addition to using nicotine substitutes, and enhancing social communication with physical activity.

He pointed out that it is possible to book an appointment in smoking cessation clinics by calling the 937 center or applying my health for those who wish, pointing out that health deserves the best and smoking gives it the worst.
