Smoking ban in Germany: It covers children and pregnant women

German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach, in a statement on Twitter, stated that there is a need for more protection of children and pregnant women in the society and stated that it is a must to introduce a smoking ban when there are children and pregnant women while driving.

Noting that this practice should have come into force before, Lauterbach said, “Smoking causes permanent damage, especially in young children and pregnant women.” made its assessment.

On the other hand, the German Ministry of Health has also prepared a draft law on the prohibition of smoking in cars with children and pregnant women.

The draft will be discussed in the Council of Ministers after consultation with other ministries.

Previously, many state governments have taken initiatives to introduce the ban in question, and fines of up to 3,000 euros have been requested for those violating the ban on cars.
