Shabana Rehman (45) lost to a buttery Ingrid Simensen (28) in the season’s second duel of «Farmen kjendis».
– What I felt, I expressed it there and then, in front of the camera. I was overwhelmed by Ingrid’s insane levitating joy of having won the duel and thought she needed this more. And I did not like her, writes Shabana Rehman in an e-mail to VG.
Rehman is known as a stand-up comedian, writer and speaker. Breaking out of “The Farm Celebrity”, she coped just fine. In the program, she says that she enjoyed Ingrid Simensen’s victory, before continuing:
– I also felt afterwards that it was a little sad to leave the new close friends I have made here then.
–– Does not carry grudges
Rehman was exposed already in the first week on the farm. Dorthe Skappel (59) was a big farmer that week, and close by choosing Rehman as first champion.
– I did not come out crooked with Dorthe, I do not want to say. But I was first pointed out by Dorthe to the one she wanted out. I had no problem with that, but the way she proceeded, and which several agreed with, was part of a poorly played alliance. I do not bear grudges, writes Rehman.
– We are just people and Kjersti and Vebjørn have become friends for life, otherwise I had great moments with both Mini, Adam, Sophie and Øyunn. Yes, Dorthe too.
Kjersti Grini (50) got along well with Rehman in «The Farm». She also noted the alliance Rehman is aiming for.
– I sat during the duel and hoped very strongly for Shabana. But what should I say? I really felt that the young people allied themselves and played games, while we more adults spent a lot of energy on the social challenge. I wanted Shabana to win, while the young people probably hoped more for Ingrid, Grini says to VG.
–Skappel goes to Grini the first week and asks if she could not imagine becoming a first champion, and then take out Rehman. Grini quickly tells Rehman what Skappel asked. It not only created a good atmosphere, although Rehman and Skappel sorted it out.
– You get to see about ten percent of what happens in there. Dorthe and Shabana solved their thing very well. But you see that there are five or six young people who ally themselves quite quickly, and then it does not take much to end up on the outside. But it has nothing to do with Shabana, because someone has to go out. I think it is clear how good and kind she is. Even when she is so vulnerable, she thinks of everyone else. It’s still just care. She is thoroughly good, says Grini.
Rehman himself thinks everything in its entirety is authentically presented on TV.
– I knew no one else on “The Farm”, except Vebjørn a little from before. Kjersti I got quick great chemistry with when we had quite similar humor and she is an honest and real lady. The first week was characterized by the big farmer Dorthe wanting me out, so then the others were probably colored by it, and I think they looked at me as someone who did not fit into their gang, she writes.
– In week two, the “gang” had become better acquainted with me, and I experienced having a great week.

– What was it like to show yourself to the TV viewers / public in a setting like “The Farm” now?

– I think “The Farm” was first and foremost a very sensual and beautiful experience, which made me forget previous storms and put things behind me. Except for the order episode where Dorthe tried to order Grini to take me out. It gave me the need to process previous storms. But it was surprisingly easy – because in contrast to the drama of reality – Kjersti Grini showed integrity and backbone and refused to join a dirty game. And later Dorthe admitted it all, and lay down flat and apologized. Then everything was ok for me and I was ready to move on.
Rehman says “The Farm” was a great experience that filled her with joy, for the most part.
– I am not screwed up so that I find people “a lot” or “annoying”. If someone does not do something good or steps over a limit, you say no, clean up and move on. Beyond that, people must flourish, be a lot and themselves for my part. Why should we all be exactly alike?
