The final of the LEGO Masters is approaching, and all the pairs that are now left have previously been at the top in one of the previous competitions.
Despite the fact that everyone had done well before, the participants felt the pressure. Barley collapsed, the “gold block” was used, and the couple who were sent home smoked due to only small details.
But this week also saw the biggest dispute so far.
Most impressive so far
In this week’s knockout competition, the participants had to build a structure that hung in the air, using only one metal wire and one starter block.
Gregor from LEGO Masters had his life turned upside down when he moved to Norway
Several of the participants found this week’s task challenging. Therefore, Gregor and Are, who ended up at the bottom two last week, chose to use the so-called “golden block” that they had won in the first competition. This guaranteed them on to the next round.
When piece master Erik Legernes (50) assessed the plane they have built, he describes it as an “aerodynamic masterpiece” – and could tell that it had not been necessary for them to use the gold block.
– But congratulations, you are guaranteed a place in the quarterfinals !, brags host Erik Solbakken (36).
Another couple who feared the elimination this week were the “twins from Sveio”, Ole Jakob and Øyvind. With only two and a half hours left of the original eight, their structure fell to the ground and shattered into several pieces.
Here it goes wrong for the “twins”
Although they admitted they were close to giving up, they rebuilt the eagle and got it done on time. This was piece master very impressed.
– It was deadly to see that you just: “We will manage this”, and continue to build, he brags.
– And the fact that you actually managed it, is very impressive. It really is a masterpiece in this eagle, states Legernes.
The couples who ended up at the bottom according to the chip master’s assessment were Bård and Reier, and Joakim and Ebbe. And despite the extra time, which they won after the episode’s challenge, and an exceptionally creative function, it was Bård and Reier who had to leave the LEGO Masters.
Hairy goals
When TV 2 calls Bård and Reier, they are sure in their case about what made them unfortunately end up at the bottom this time.
– We set ourselves a hair-raising goal that we should build something that weighed 11 kg. It was the heaviest of all the buildings. I do not think anyone, ever in the history of the LEGO Master, has done something similar, Bård tells TV 2 over the phone.
– It was not that the building was not good enough, or that the idea was not good enough. But time quickly ran out, he continues.
