Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema were back on the field together on Boxing Day after 916 days. The former Real Madrid teammates met in the match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr (2-5) in the Saudi Pro League and cameras caught a chat before the match. Afterwards, the Spanish media clarified what the pair discussed in the catacombs.
“How are you?”, a smiling Ronaldo asked Benzema in Spanish. “How’s your experience here? Very different, isn’t it?”

The Frenchman smiled back and stated that he is doing well. “And how are you doing?” Ronaldo: “Everything is going well, calm down.”
The last time Real Madrid’s successful duo stood on a pitch together was during the group stage of the 2020 European Championship, when France and Portugal met.
Al-Nassr ultimately recorded a convincing victory over Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League. After a goal-rich match, Ronaldo’s team was too strong for Benzema’s team 2-5. The Portuguese superstar himself scored two goals, while Sadio Mané also scored two.
Al-Ittihad surprisingly took the lead after just fifteen minutes of play. On a pass from Benzema, Abderrazak Hamdallah scored: 1-0. A few minutes later, Al-Nassr received a penalty after a foul by the Frenchman who was responsible for the opening goal.
Ronaldo was allowed to shoot from eleven meters and did not fail: 1-1. Even before half time, Al-Nassr would have completely turned the game around, as Anderson Talisca made it 1-2 on a pass from Alex Telles. In the second half, Ronaldo was responsible for the 2-3, which he also made from eleven meters.
