“Elbersberg Helau”: With a wink smiley, yellow hat, red shirt and a syringe in her arm, Tusnelda not only greets carnival jesters, but all Elbersbergers and guests.

There she has been standing for a few days, on the Kreisl near the fire station, the corona-plagued and yet optimistic mute speaker. Last year, when you were allowed to, she was still a cheerleader, and was thrown through the air by the Jecken at the Gaudiwurm.
At least in Elbersberg, Tusnelda is likely to be a little celebrity: For years she has been an integral part of the carnival procession through the small town, the TSV athletes have let her slip into various roles. “This year, when all carnival fun is forbidden, we wanted to spread at least a little bit of fun and joy with this gesture,” says Heidi Büttner, who, together with her colleague Sonja Spethling and her husband Peter, redesigned the doll “Corona-like”.
“We thought that Tusnelda would be best placed on the Kreisl, where many cars pass by,” says Büttner. And in fact, when you set up the doll, you would have already registered many smiling drivers and passers-by. “In these difficult times it is important to set an example,” says the head of the TSV women’s sports group. She participates in club activities all year round and is involved in a wide variety of activities: women’s carnival and carnival parade, children’s carnival, at the various festivals, during the cleaning action in the sports center or at the Kathrein dance.
