Manchester –
Marcus Rashford smiled broadly after scoring his first hat-trick for Manchester United. The Red Devils certainly hope Rashford can continue like that.
MU continues its slick start in the Champions League when they host RB Leipzig at Old Trafford, Thursday (29/10/2020) in the morning WIB. Mason Greenwood opened MU’s advantage in the first half.
Then, in the second half, substitute Rashford scored two goals in the short span of time before Anthony Martial’s penalty made it 4-0. Rashford didn’t want to stop scoring goals when he broke into the Leipzig net again in injury time.
Rashford had the right to bring the ball home in that match because he was able to score a hat-trick, which was the first time he was made in a MU shirt. Rashford can smile because this great achievement proves how important he is to Manchester United.
Rashford this season has made seven goals in nine appearances in all competitions.
“Can’t stop smiling. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. Just try to have fans so they can celebrate together,” said Rashford through his upload on his twitter account.
Rashford is the fifth player in Champions League history to score a hat-trick as a substitute, and even Rashford’s hat-trick is the most striking because all three of his goals came in a blitz of 27 minutes.
Rashford’s achievement equaled Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s record when he made a hat-trick as a substitute in a match against Nottingham Forest in 1999.
“The manager said that if I played to increase the tempo of the match and of course that means we will attack totally. So there must be a gap there,” said Rashford.
“We are able to find the gap. We seem to be able to score goals every time we attack,” concluded Marcus Rashford.
