Previously, Detachment 88 Director of Prevention, Kombes M Rosidi stated that the Taliban’s victory in Afghanistan inspired terrorist groups in Indonesia despite having different understandings about religion.
“The euphoria of the Taliban victory can have an impact on the existence of terror groups in Indonesia. At the very least, it can be used as a means of their propaganda,” said Rosidi in an online discussion held Tuesday (5/10).
Rosidi said that terrorist networks in Indonesia often create narratives with the capital of the Taliban’s victory. In addition, they also brought up the Taliban who managed to control Afghanistan after decades of being occupied by the United States.
This was conveyed by Rosidi referring to the results of the examination of the arrested members of Jamaah Islamiyah.
“During the interrogation of one of the leaders of Jamaah Islamiyah (JI), which we arrested some time ago, he in his lecture told his congregation to continue istiqomah as the Taliban did, “he said.
It is known, the Taliban managed to take control of the Afghan Presidential Palace and occupied the seat of government in the country’s capital, Kabul on August 15, 2021.
Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund was then lined up as the main leader of the new government in Afghanistan.
