Networking Milanese bars and cafés that host workstations dedicated to “agile workers”. In a period in which smartworking remains widespread, the start-up Nibol has developed an app with a dual objective: on the one hand, offering help to the premises to face phase 3, by converting the spaces into co-working stations. Alternative spaces for smart working
If it is true that 60% of workers say they want to continue working remotely even after the pandemic (source CGIL survey / Di Vittorio Foundation on Smartworking), it is equally true that working from home is not always easy: they lack the comfort of their own station, discussion with colleagues, coffee or lunch with customers or suppliers. Just as it is not easy to find an alternative space that is cheap, comfortable and, in this period, sanitized.
Booking through App
To meet the needs of smartworkers, the start up allows you to book a “hot desk” in a simple way. Thanks to geolocation, the app highlights the Nibol premises closest to the user. On the pages of the various rooms, the details of the individual workstations – from the electrical outlets to the air conditioning – and the reviews left by other customers on items such as convenience and tranquility of the location, but also the quality of the food and drinks are visible. Once you have made your choice, you just have to book your table via the app, specifying when and how long it will be occupied.
The opportunities for bars and cafes
On the other hand, even the managers of the premises are facing difficulties linked to dynamics such as social distancing and prohibition of gatherings. Nibol also represents an opportunity for venues that have the opportunity to reconvert to safe and sanitized work spaces: cafés and bars have no fixed costs for joining the Nibol network, thus being able to take advantage of the usually less frequented hours.

A sudden change that has done nothing but consolidate the practice of smartworking, if you think that already in 2019 the growth of smartworkers was 20% compared to 2018 – says Riccardo Suardi, founder of Nibol -. In this context, our goal is simple: to offer a comfortable and cheap place to work, also having the opportunity to find other people who are part of the Nibol community. We are currently active with 15 clubs in Milan. We have two short-term goals: to expand the offer with the possibility of reserving private spaces and getting the service to other Italian cities as well ».
