Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Medical technology is growing rapidly since humans need to visit hospitals or see specialists for certain things.
Today, smart watches are equipped with a heart rate sensor, blood oxygen sensor, and even an ECG monitor. In the future, smartphone may also be able to detect Covid-19.
Researchers at General Electric, recently awarded a National Institute of Health award, developed a sensor that could be embedded in smartphone, which in turn can be used to detect various things, such as Covid-19.
Gazetted Ubergizmo, Tuesday (13/4/2021), according to the research team, the sensor has the same detection capability as larger analytical instruments like in a laboratory.
They also claim that their sensors are sensitive enough to isolate virus particles without interference from other elements.
