In an interview with Techradar, Oneplus founder Carl Pei confirmed some of the previous rumors about the upcoming mid-range smartphone North. With the Nord, Oneplus wants to expand its portfolio again with a cheaper device almost five years after the release of its last mid-range smartphone.

In the run-up to the official announcement on June 30, 2020, there were already rumors that a Snapdragon 765G suspected inside the Oneplus Nord. Pei confirmed this in an interview: The smartphone will appear with Qualcomm’s 5G chip, which is priced below the Snapdragon 865. The performance is comparable.
According to Pei, Oneplus also plans to install a camera comparable to its top models in the North. However, Pei has not yet revealed precise technical details. Rumor has it that the smartphone is said to have a dual front camera.
High quality workmanship, price of 500 euros
The build quality should be comparable to that of the luxury class models from Oneplus. These are usually very well made. Oneplus has founded its own team within the company for the construction and design.
Oneplus Nord’s price in Europe is said to be 500 euros, as Pete Lau, the second founder of Oneplus, told Techradar in a separate conversation. This would put the Oneplus Nord at a price of 200 euros under the cheapest top model, the Oneplus 8.
Carl Pei did not reveal any further technical details or a publication date in the interview. It is already known that Oneplus Nord will be launched in Europe and India.
