Wide-profile electrical appliance manufacturer “Xiaomi” has launched its latest smartphone series – “Xiaomi 13”. In order for users to have a new and professional experience when taking photos with a smartphone, the manufacturer of electrical appliances has collaborated with the high-class camera and lens manufacturer “Leica” in the development of the newly launched phone series.

A professional device that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand
Aspects of the camera system of Xiaomi’s latest smartphones, the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, have been developed in collaboration with Leica to give smartphone users a professional photography experience. Both phones have a triple camera with built-in optical lenses developed in collaboration with Leica. The Xiaomi 13 Pro’s camera system covers a focal length of 14mm to 75mm and consists of a 23mm wide-angle main camera with an ultra-large 1-inch IMX989 sensor.
According to T. Valantins, the IMX989 sensor was introduced for the first time in the “Xiaomi 12S Ultra” phones: “This is the largest sensor ever built into a smartphone. The high dynamic range provides excellent light capture capabilities and fast lens response. A sensor of this size delivers colorful images with sharp contrast and defined textures that reveal even the smallest details in the frame.
The expert also emphasizes that, thanks to the internal focusing, the smartphone provides the opportunity to take portraits and avoid blurred close-up images: “The latest phones have an optical zoom range that can zoom in a little more than 3 times, and a 75 mm telephoto lens, which is equivalent to a professional camera .”
When shooting, you can choose two different styles – “Leica Authentic Look” and “Leica Vibrant Look” – which reveal different aesthetic possibilities in the shots. The latest phones not only increase the speed of taking photos, but also allow the devices to automatically focus on certain moving objects thanks to the “Xiaomi ProFocus” feature.
Xiaomi 13 Pro supports Adobe Color Profiles, providing professionals with a unique editing option in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. Meanwhile, video creators can enjoy vivid colors, clear contrast ratios, and rich image details. “4K Ultra Night” and “HyperOIS” image stabilization functions ensure the highest quality even when shooting in the dark.
Faster, more powerful, more efficient
T. Valantins says that the smartphones of the new series also stand out with processor performance and power: “Powerful performance guarantees ease and speed when using the phone for computer photography or games. It is also important to emphasize that these models have extended battery life.”
The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are equipped with the Xiaomi Surge battery management system, which uses an in-house developed Surge charging chip for longer battery life. For example, the battery of the Xiaomi 13 Pro can be charged to 100 percent in just 19 minutes, and all phones in the series come with super-powerful chargers.
The devices also offer Wi-Fi 7 support with the Qualcomm® FastConnectTM 7800 cellular system. The “Xiaomi 13 Pro High Band Simultaneous (HBS) Multi-Link” technology provides 5 GHz and 6 GHz connections and can reach extremely high speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps. It also reduces latency, ensuring quality network capabilities.

Another novelty of the new series is the “Xiaomi 13 Lite” smartphone, equipped with a double front camera. The 32MP front camera captures clear, high-quality images, while the 8MP depth front camera helps deliver extra detail for natural-looking self-portraits. This device also offers useful features such as dynamic framing, automatic field correction and image zoom.
The “Selfie Glow” feature of the smartphone helps you take high-quality photos with the front camera and reduces image distortion. The high-quality front camera is also great for video calls.
