A floor in uniform decor and color visually enlarges the space. Do not use all-over dark or bold colors on the walls, for example, red makes you feel smaller. At least some of the lighting should reflect off the mirror or glass surface, the shine on the furniture will also help. Showcases and cabinets yes, but leave some open, even if they get dusty. Open furniture gives the interior airiness. This can also happen with several shelves that you will pull/pull up to the ceiling. For example, in a children’s room, where there is not much space, this is an ideal solution.

Practical hiding places

A pull-out bed is often used in children’s rooms. But even the double bed can be higher. The normal height of the bed is around 40 to 45 cm, while a height of +15 to 20 cm increases comfort when getting up and lying down. A higher bed will also relieve the younger generation who struggle with back pain.

A good idea is the stairs to the bunk bed or to the bed on the floor, which can be turned into small cabinets. Some may look like open shelves (divided in the middle by a vertical mini partition so they don’t bend when you walk). If they are located next to the wall, then add hooks or handles to them, they will be used to hang a few pieces of clothing or maybe a mirror. And in a way, instead of a railing.

Designer furniture also offers the perfect solution. For example, a 3 in 1 wardrobe. When everything is cleaned, there will be plenty of space. Do you want to work or dine? Fold down the spacious table top. Is it time to get laid? Fold down the double bed. Or check out the couch that can turn into a bed. There is also a solution for a single household.

Don’t overlook smaller pieces of furniture, such as a lamp and a speaker in one. Ironing board hidden in the mirror. On a screen instead of a dividing partition, which takes up almost no space, and if it is equipped with, for example, a magnetic board on at least one side, it will expand your work space.
