Randersacker. A pickup truck got into oncoming traffic at Randersacker on Saturday evening for a previously unknown cause and collided head-on with an oncoming VW Golf. A 26-year-old passenger in the Golf suffered life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the van has been arrested and is also in a hospital.
At the time of the accident around 9.10 p.m. there was very heavy traffic due to the A 3 being blocked on the road between Würzburg and Randersacker.
According to the current state of knowledge, the van hit the side of a semitrailer truck driving in front of it for a previously unexplained cause and then hurled uncontrollably into oncoming traffic.

There the Mercedes collided head-on with the oncoming VW. A 26-year-old who was in the back seat of the Golf suffered life-threatening injuries. The passengers in the VW suffered minor injuries.
In the Mercedes Vito, the 47-year-old driver and one passenger suffered serious injuries, the front passenger suffered minor injuries. The six injured were taken to various hospitals by ambulance after initial medical treatment by the ambulance service and an emergency doctor.
To clarify the exact course of the accident, the Würzburg-Land police station called in an expert on the instructions of the Würzburg public prosecutor. The driver of the van was provisionally arrested.
The state road had to be closed for several hours to record the accident, which led to considerable traffic obstructions in the Randersacker area.
