A 36-year-old from Munderfing was driving a small truck on the Katztal municipal road towards Munderfing. He wanted to cross the Mattigtalbahn railway crossing, which had no barriers and was secured with a stop sign. He overlooked the approaching train.
Collision despite emergency braking
Despite the 47-year-old train driver immediately applying the brakes, the collision occurred. The 36-year-old was injured and taken to hospital. The train driver and 22 passengers remained uninjured and escaped with a shock. The railway line had to be closed for around two hours for the clean-up work.
