After winning at Chelsea in the round of 16 of the Champions League, they are in a good mood at Bayern. CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge deliberately suggests that Hans-Dieter Flick can expect to remain a coach longer than just until the summer.
It was a well-rounded affair for FC Bayern and therefore a nice evening in south-west London. With 3: 0 (0: 0), the Munich soccer team won their first knockout round at Chelsea, fourth in the English Premier League. I mean: These well-chosen words make it seem unlikely that Flick can train the team of the German champions beyond the summer. The former coach of national coach Joachim Löw came to Munich in the summer of last year as an assistant to Niko Kovac and had signed a contract until June 30, 2021. When Kovac had to leave, Flick took over the team temporarily and indefinitely in early November. After the first half of the Bundesliga, which FC Bayern finished third behind RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach, his superiors then announced that he would remain head coach at least until the end of the season.
Now everything actually indicates that the flick, which is popular with players and fans alike, remains longer, especially since the team has stabilized, is now number one in the league and has almost reached the quarter-finals of the premier class from the beginning to the middle of April. If it occurs like the deserved victory in London, which was tantamount to a small gala, it shouldn’t be an issue. And then it will be difficult for the club bosses not to renew their contract anyway.
At the beginning of the week Rummenigge had already raved about Flick in an interview with the “kicker”: “He has a clear match plan. The team is tactically oriented as with Louis van Gaal, Jupp Heynckes or Pep Guardiola.
