The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that as of 9 am on the 12th, 1.43 trillion won was paid to the 1.01 million small business owners who applied for the support fund the day before. This is 37% of the 2.76 million subjects. The Small and Medium Business Administration sent a letter of application guidance to 1.43 million people with an odd number of business registration numbers out of the 2.76 million targets for the first expedited payment from 8 am the previous day.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, 450,000 people who applied by noon on the 11th were paid 6706 billion won from 1:20 pm on the same day. About 550,000 people who applied by midnight were paid 761.1 billion won from 3 am on the day.
The Ministry of SMEs said, “The application rate on the first day among those eligible for expedited payment was 37%, which was 7% higher than 30% for the new desired fund,” and said, “This is because the amount of support has increased and I have become more familiar with online application.”
From 6 am on this day, out of the 2.76 million eligible for the first expedited payment, a guide letter will be sent sequentially to 1,330,000 small businesses with an even number of business numbers. The payment time is until noon, and applications are paid from around 2pm, and applications from noon to midnight are paid from 3am on the 13th. On the 13th, you can apply online without discriminating between odd and even numbers at the end of your business registration number. From the 14th, the application will be paid from 3 a.m. the next day until 6 p.m.
After November 24 last year, small business owners who have been banned from collective or business restrictions due to strengthened quarantine measures by the government and local governments will receive 3 million won and 2 million won, respectively. Small business owners whose sales were less than 400 million won last year and decreased from 2019 sales could receive 1 million won.
Small Business Policy Manager Lee Eun-cheong of the Small and Medium Business Administration said, “Even if it is not included in this support, payment will begin on the 25th for winter sports facilities, auxiliary facilities, lodging facilities, and companies that are prohibited from gathering and restricted business that are added by local governments.”
