SM-F415F / DS, is Samsung preparing a Galaxy Fold Lite for us? –

In any case, this is what some of our colleagues think like Peter de GSMArena on reading a new certification that appeared on the Wifi Alliance website. A certification that concerns a Samsung smartphone whose reference is SM-F415F / DS and which could well be the Galaxy Fold Lite.

So, after its Galaxy Unpack in early August, is Samsung already on the making of a new foldable screen smartphone? It is in all this that suggests a new certification obtained by the Korean manufacturer concerning a product which has for reference SM-F415F / DS.

SM-F415F / DS, but why a new foldable Galaxy?

We can believe in this version of smartphone compared to the referencing history for foldable smartphones already released by Samsung.

In fact, this newcomer who receives the certification has for reference “SM-F415F / DS”. However, on the foldable phones that Samsung has released so far, the first “F” after the “SM” referred to the foldable versions.

We can therefore assume that this new smartphone should follow the same nomenclature and therefore, it would be a foldable smartphone. Furthermore, what suggests that this is a “lite” version is notably the integration of the proposed Wi-Fi standards.

In fact, we can see that the phone will offer a dual band Wi-Fi solution, integrating 2.4GHz and 5 GHz. However, in terms of supported standards we find 802.11a / b / g / n / ac. No WiFi 6 on the other hand.

A cheap foldable smartphone?

So, we know that WiFi 6 brings a high-end processor. However, this one being deprived, that leaves us supposed that we should have a smartphone of “mid-range”. Finally, according to some, we could therefore see a new foldable smartphone coming from Samsung which should have a price around $ 1000. Who knows maybe even a little cheaper.

For the rest, little information, whether it will be a folding screen of the Galaxy Z Flip or Galaxy Fold type. What we do know, however, is that the phone will receive Android 10 or perhaps directly update to Android 11.

The certification which was validated on 08-10-2020 bears the reference WFA101364.
