Makkah ∙ As part of slum development in Makkah city, buildings and other constructions in various areas will be demolished in stages from today. The official spokesperson of the project, Dr. Amjad Maghribi said.
Covering an area of 686,000 square meters, it will include the Second Ring Road, Al Taqwa in the north, Rawabi Ajyad Modified Scheme and Ajyad Supplementary Scheme in the east and Al Hijra Street in the west. Dr. Al Kidwaa is one of the priority development centers identified by the ministerial committee to resolve the slum situation in Makkah Al Mukarramah. Maghrib indicated.
Slum relocation is aimed at transforming Makkah into a modern city that attracts investment opportunities, improving the quality of life of slum dwellers, improving the health and social services provided to them and addressing systemic violations in those areas.
He noted that the Royal Commission for the City of Makkah and the Holy Places had already started an inventory of urban areas and surveys, and that the developing company had obtained preliminary plan approval from the municipality.
