I think we are all happy that DTM is finally leaving the Lausitzring track. And although the whole weekend was very “bitter”, there were some “sweet” elements in it. Let’s sum up today’s DTM race from the perspective of Robert Kubica.
Results
You can see the summary of the competition below:
The course of the race
Today Kubica started from the highest point in the history of his starts in the DTM – 11. The Pole had a good start and maintained his position, taking advantage of the terrible start of Sheldon Van der Linde. For 3 laps he was in 10th place, but then there was a huge drop in pace, followed by a drop in the general classification – to the last place.
Kubica extended the stint, but it was probably not a good strategy. Those who descended the latest benefited the most today. The pit-stop itself was not good – this time the ORLEN Team ART crew was the slowest, and Kubica lost about 3 seconds to the top.
After returning to the track it was not better. Again – only at the end of the race did Robert start driving at a similar pace as his rivals, but this was due to their fight and tire wear rather than improving Kubica’s lap times. For the second time this season and the second time at the Lausitzring, he finished last.
Statements
Probably tomorrow we will read more of them in the press release of Robert’s team. The portal ran.de and Cezary Gutowski on Lausitzring also spoke to the Pole.
“Progress is off the track. I hope there is no doubt now that something is wrong. In my opinion, there are two big areas that are significantly worsening the performance” RK. The whole interview in DAS Vlog on my YT

Starting order
Race position changes
Best laps
Here, Kubica’s loss is unfortunately very big.
Sectors
I think it is worth starting with the sectors of qualifications because they look really interesting.
It was much worse in the race. Interestingly, in the latter sector it was not Robert who had the worst result.
Speeds
Kubica – again – with the slowest car on the straights. He lost 6 km / h to the fastest. In qualifying, this loss was higher and amounted to 8 km / h.
All laps
Again I decided to compare Kubica’s times with Scherer’s results.
Pit-stopy
Today, the ORLEN Team ART team was unfortunately the slowest.
general classification
Robert, of course, remains in last place. He and Scherer remain the only drivers with no points this season.
Classification of teams
Manufacturers classification
Despite today’s double, BMW only managed to match the Audi score. The advantage in the classification of producers is large.
DTM Trophy
It is worth informing again that the third place in today’s DTM Trophy race – just like yesterday – was taken by Jan Kisiel. In the general classification of the cycle it is on the 3rd position.
