“Slow Processing of Housing Benefit Applications in Dresden, Causing Frustration Among Residents”

The processing of housing benefit applications in Dresden is slow. Around 7,300 applications are currently still unprocessed. That said social mayor Kristin Kaufmann at the request of the dissident faction in the city council. The processing time is 3 months, despite many new hires.

According to Kaufmann, training would take a lot of time. Complete electronic processing of applications will only be possible from 2025. Electronically submitted applications still have to be printed out.
