Abu Dhabi, October 20 / WAM / Slovenian Tadi Pogačar, driver of the Emirates Cycling Team, and ranked first in the world, expressed his happiness with what he achieved with his team by reaching the podiums during the current season, with 57 podiums, and the team obtaining the title of best team in 2023 in the tour classification. The 25-year-old Pogacar said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM): “The achievement achieved is credited to the entire team. We faced many challenges during the season, but thanks to our management and everyone’s cooperation, we reached the top and became the first team in the world.”
Bogacher continued: “My presence on the podium does not only count for me, but for the team as a whole. Everyone cooperated with me and pushed me forward. We are an integrated team in everything, the work system and the riders, and titles must count for everyone.”
Pogacar emphasized that since joining the team in 2020, he and his teammates have striven to reach the top and podiums on a permanent basis, which has been achieved over the past years, and contributed to the team’s rise in level until it reached its current position.
He said: “When we come here to the Emirates, we follow the youth of the team’s academy. They are great players who have the ability to always be the best. Thanks to our management, we are accustomed to being at the forefront and they will be as well.”
Pogacar explained that the most important thing that distinguishes the Emirates Cycling Team is investing in emerging riders and paying great attention to them because they are the nucleus of the future and capable of continuing the journey.
During the recent period, Pogacar contributed to helping the UAE team achieve many achievements, most notably in the Grand Tour of France in 2021 and 2020, as well as ending the FIA World Tour season in 2023 in the lead.
