Before Sunday’s final of the Slovak Slovnaft Cup 2021/2022, footballers ŠK Slovan Bratislava and FC Spartak Trnava are appealing to fans that the meeting on Tehelné pole will take place without vulgarities and violence.
At the forefront of this challenge are the biggest supports of both teams and former teammates from the Slovak national team – Slovana foreman Vladimír Weiss Jr. and tracker of Trnava Martin Škrtel.
“Together we invite you to the final match of the Cup against Trnava. I believe that the match will be without vulgarities, without violence and together we will show that we have the best fans in Slovakia,” said Weiss Jr. in the video on the official website of the Slovak Football Association (SFZ).
A similar request, just to Spartacus fans, was addressed by Škrtel. “On Sunday we will have the final of the cup and derby against our age-old rival – Slovan Bratislava. We, the footballers, urge you to come and support us in as many numbers as possible, cheering decently, fairly, without swearing, vulgarisms and battles. To get to the stadium families with children were not afraid to come either, “ followed by an experienced 37-year-old quarterback.
Fans of both clubs have had a negative visibility this season during the match, which took place on October 17. Violence from supporters of both teams resulted in the premature end of the match, which was finally over “at the green table”. Slovan then triumphed by default 3: 0.
