The opponent had almost identical physical parameters, he was three years older. The bout took place as part of the prelims card at UFC on ESPN 51 at the Apex in Las Vegas.

Parisian countered with hooks with great momentum, Budaya tried to surprise with elbows from the turn. The Slovakian’s punches were more dynamic and especially accurate.

The American tried to take his opponent to the ground a minute and a half before the end. Buday refused a takedown attempt, rolled his opponent and got into the top position. He grabbed the popular kimura and the legendary referee Herb Dean ended the duel 49 seconds before the end of the 1st round after the Parisiana verbally surrendered.

“We got it!” Buday smiled after successfully transferring the technique to the camera and sent greetings to Slovakia. He was interviewed directly in the octagon by the former UFC light and heavyweight champion and today’s co-commentator Daniel Cormier.

“It’s the most beautiful feeling. I wanted to finally finish the match before the limit and I succeeded, so I’m very happy,” said Buday. Cormier recalled that the Slovak has a streak of 12 victories, including 4 in the UFC. He followed up with the question of whether he is ready for an opponent from the TOP 15 ranking in heavyweight. “It will be a challenge, but yes, I’m ready,” answered the Slovak.
