“August 31, 2021 is the last date when residents of the Slovak Republic who wish to be immunized with this vaccine will be able to be injected with the second dose,” the Bratislava Ministry of Health said.

“The Central European state launched the campaign with the Russian drug on June 7. The country received 200,000 doses, but decided to use only 40,000. The rest was sold back to Moscow for $ 9.95 per dose. Bratislava paid the same price for one dose.” pointed out the media.

More than 4,000 patients have been vaccinated at the Asenovgrad Hospital

“Immunization with the Russian vaccine has caused dissatisfaction in Slovakia because the drug is not approved for use in the 27 by the European Medicines Agency (the European Union’s regulatory body),” RIA Novosti added.

“Because of Sputnik V, a government crisis broke out in the country, which led to the replacement of Prime Minister Igor Matovic with Eduard Heger,” the news agency recalled.
