The reason is the growing number of cases of covid-19 in the Czech Republic. The State Secretary of the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Martin Klus, informed about it on the social network.

On the way from the Czech Republic to Slovakia, people will, with some exceptions, have to submit a negative test for a coronavirus not older than 72 hours or to enter a five-day quarantine and then undergo the test.
–
“It will be checked by random checks of mobile phones,” Klus wrote.
–
Exceptions will cover, inter alia, commuters traveling from a distance of up to 30 kilometers from the border, educators, health professionals and social workers.

Slovakia has previously included Croatia, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Malta on the so-called red list. In addition to the Czech Republic, it also intends to tighten the rules for travel from Ukraine. These will be specified later.
