The Slovak government on Wednesday supported the extension of the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine for an indefinite period and expanded the list of goods to which it applies.

Details: Slovakia’s previous ban applied until the end of the year on four commodities, namely wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds.
Now honey, barley, wheat flour, malt, soybeans, cane or beet sugar, bran, cake and other solid residues obtained from the extraction of vegetable fats or oils have been added to the list.
Let us recall that in September the European Commission announced that will not renew restrictions on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine after September 15, but Kyiv agreed to take measures to limit imports on its part.
Despite this, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia decided to introduce unilateral restrictions. Warsaw previously said that their restrictions will be valid indefinitely.
At the same time, the European Commission do not see significant negative consequences for European markets from Ukrainian agricultural imports.
