Slovakia received its historically second representative in the most prestigious combat organization, the UFC. The popular Dana White´s Contender Series show featured heavyweight Martin Buday, who managed to beat Lorenzo Hood as a favorite, which earned him a dream contract. Slovakia thus received the same number of representatives as the Czech Republic now has.

The match between Buday and Hood was planned to be the fourth on the card. The start was wild. After a few tens of seconds, Hood received a blow to the eye, and the judge then gave him the time he needed to exhale. However, the repeated shot proved that it was a clean shot. Subsequently, the Slovak fighter got into big problems with the mesh, but he managed to get out of the awkward situation. However, he collected real grenades, which obviously shook him.
Buday tried to retaliate just as hard, burying his socks in the bottom, and his knees hit his thigh. At the end of the first round, the American could not withstand the pressure of the Slovak wrestler and faced a hard knee on his head. An elbow followed, which was not accurate, so Lorenzo Hood went to the ground, which meant the final one.
The final decision on the distribution of contracts to the UFC has dragged on. In the end, Martin Buday convinced the most professional man with his performance – the head of a prestigious fighter organization. Dana White offered him a contract in the UFC, which for Slovakia means historically the second representative. Ľudovít Klein was the first to make his way into the famous organization.
