RÁS AL-KHAIMÁ – The Slovak representatives in indoor soccer finished their work at the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in the quarterfinals.

In the fight for promotion to the top four, they lost to the Hungarians 0:1 on Thursday. Thus, they said goodbye to the tournament at the same stage as at the previous championship in Australia.

The Slovaks did not enter the duel happily. In the 9th minute, the goalkeeper Erik Feriančik made a mistake, which he “extinguished” with an intervention outside the defined area and saw a red card for playing with his hand.

The Hungarians then played a five-minute power play, but they did not use it thanks to the substitute goalkeeper Stanislav Pella, who made several successful saves in the rest of the game.

The Hungarians had more of a game in the match, Slovakia’s only significant chance was created by Adam Bombicz after the change of sides in the 41st minute, but the Hungarian goalkeeper neutralized his attempt at the post.

The 43rd minute finally decided everything. Pella did not avoid hesitation during the pass, which was used by Gábor Kiss, who did not hesitate in the face of the Slovakian goalkeeper.
