Slovak Opera Singer Patricia Janečkova Passes Away at 26

Slovak opera singer Patricia Janečkova died at the age of 26. The portal reports this Novinky.cz.

In February last year, the singer announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She was planning to take a career break to undergo treatment. In 2023, the soprano was able to return to the stage due to a temporary improvement in her condition.

The singer was born in Munichberg, Germany in 1998. She started singing at the age of four. Graduated from the Conservatory in Ostrava (Czech Republic). She first attracted attention at the age of 13, when she won the television competition “Talentamania”. She also won the International Vocal Competition Concorso di musica Sacra in Rome. At the National Theater Ostrava she performed several notable roles – Maria in the musical West Side Story, the roles of Pamela and Natalie in Flowers for Mrs. Harris, the last role was Joanna in the musical thriller Sweeney Todd – the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
